Posted June 14, 2010

This past weekend we traveled to Hesston Speedway where we struggled in the heat race. We started 16th and ended up finishing 11th During the feature I was having problems getting full throttle which on a dry slick track may have helped me out. This week we head to Williams Grove for twin 20's. Come cheer us on and look for a BIG PRESS RELEASE in the near Future....Until then take care and God Bless

Short Night at The Grove...
Posted May 11, 2010

This past weekend we traveled to Williams Grove Speedway to compete with the PA Sprint Series event. The past two weeks I pulled my own pill and had great numbers, which is amazing because last season i couldnt pull anything but the last number in the bag. We walk into the track and I pull my pill and guess what! #70 out of 80 numbers. To say the least I was very frustrated! The past few times at Williams Grove the track has been one lane so i knew we had our work cut out for us. I started 10th in the first heat. When the green flag dropped I got a bad start which had me playing catch up for the first few laps. around lap 5 a competitor spun in front of me so i swirved high to avoid him spinning and got into the loose marbles which caused me to spin as well. I stomped on the throttle trying to do a 360 and keep going when I did that the front end caught the fence causing me to stop. At first i was mad but realized I didnt lose any positions so i was happy to be pushed off and rejoin the field. The very next lap a car spun right in front of me and i had no where to go but spin to avoid him. To say the least I was very frustrated. I was pushed off again and had to start at the rear of the field. I finished 9th out of the 10 car field. I had to run the consi which started me 8th in the consi. I worked my way up to 5th and made the transfer spot! Since I had to run the consi it started me 23rd in the feature. I got a great start and passed 2 cars coming out of turn 4 to complete the first lap Nathan Gramley started to flip wildly right in front of me. Somehow i got turned and spun right at him which caused me to bounce into the inside fence tearing up the fuel cell. According to friends in the stand as Nathan was flipping somehow I went under him while he was flipping and some part of his car just grazzed the top wing which put dark black gouges in the wing pannel. They pushed me back off and when we restarted I got under three more cars on the start coming out of turn two! Going down the backstretch I thought I had a flat tire because the car was all over the track. Next thing I know the red light was on! What I thought was a flat tire was actually Rain! It began to rain heavily! They called the races after just a 10 minute delay. We will run double features next time we are back at the track next month! I want to thank Duff Aurand, Rob Grassmyer and Sean Fluke for all the hard work at the track. It was a pretty frustrating night for me but they kept busting their but and trying to help me get better! Hopefully with more seat time and experience I can get a Win for them someday soon! Thanks again to all of my sponsors who allow us to compete week in and week out. Thank you All and God Bless

Susky Fun Goes Flat...
Posted April 12, 2010

This past weekend Ron and the team traveled to SSP. Ron and the team tested at SSP last season at the end of the year and were very happy with the results. Ron pulled a 16 which started him on the outside front row of the first heat race. On the start he lit up the tires and dropped two spots. When the team took the halfway point Ron realized the car was overheating and decided to coast to the finish to save the motor. Ron started 17th in the feature which was a caution filled race. Around lap 12 Ron was up to around 12th spot when on a restart a fellow competitor drove in to hard to the bottom of the track and hit Ron's left rear tire pretty hard. Ron managed to keep the car from spinning but the fellow competitor was not so lucky. He spun out bringing out a caution. Under the caution Ron realized the left rear tire was going flat but thought he could keep it up by keeping heat in the tire. Guess what! Another caution came out causing the tire to go completly flat and Ron was forced to pull in. When asked what he thought about the evening's progress he said "Tonight was alot of fun. We learned alot and i got alot of important seat time. It's unfortunitly that someones aggressive driving ended our night but it was a racing deal, things happen no hard feelings." The team will be taking off this weekend in hopes of getting the car completely repaired and be ready 100% for our next race! Ron wants to thank everyone involved in the team this season and for all the friends who showed up at SSP this past weekend to cheer him on.

1st Race of the 2010 season
Posted March 29, 2010

This past weekend Ron and the team traveled to Port Royal Speedway to compete in the first race of the season. Ron was very excited to get back on the track after a very productive practice day at Port Royal last week. The team was pumped for a great night and Ron was excited to get the monkey off his back at Port Royal. Ron has had a very bad history of pulling high pills for his starting spot so he thought he would let a crew member pull it for him. Well needless to say it wasn't the number we wanted. Out of 50 pills in the bag we pulled a 44 which started Ron 6th in the 3rd heat. Ron managed to wheel the car into the top 5 and thats where he finished. That lined him up 15th in the feature. The team made a decision to tighten up the car for the feature which really backfired on them. At the drop of the green Ron realised that the car was pushing very badly up the track. He kept trying to steer the car with the throttle and brakes and started to fall back after he fought his way up to about 13th. On lap 13 he decided to just pull the car into the backstreatch pit area and call it a night. When asked why not just stay out and finish Ron said "I didn't see the need to be just lap traffic, I couldn't get the car to steer and I didnt see the need to burn fuel and risk being a hazzard to the leaders." Ron and the team will recoup this week and be back in action on April 10th at Susky. Be sure to come out and cheer us on as we continue the learning process of the very competetive Pa Sprint Series.
